Allergy, Immune Problems, Lungs and Breathing

The Allergy, Immunology and Pulmonology Clinic evaluates and manages children and adolescents with the following problems:
Allergies:
- Asthma management and education
- Hay fever
- Nasal and sinus problems
- Eczema
- Recurrent hives
- Food allergy
- Stinging insect allergy
Immunology:
- Recurrent infections
- Family history of immune system problems
- Known or suspected primary immune deficiency
- Genetic disorder with associated immune problems
Pulmonology:
- Asthma management and education
- Chronic cough
- Nasal and sinus problems
- Recurrent bronchitis and pneumonia
- Exercise-induced shortness of breath
- Cystic fibrosis
The University of Iowa Cystic Fibrosis Center is certified as a care, education and resource center by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The center provides patient care, educates physicians and serves as a resource for furthering the knowledge of cystic fibrosis.
Our diagnostic services include:
- Assessment of pulmonary physiology
- Fiberoptic bronchoscopy
- Allergy testing
- Exercise physiology testing
