The new University of Iowa Children’s Hospital will be designed as a healing environment that improves the health and well-being of children and their families. Plans include expanding existing programs and developing new services on-site and throughout Iowa to meet the current and future needs of Iowa’s children.

Double-lung transplant give young Davenport man a new life.

Matthew Myers has dealt with limited lung capacity since his premature birth in 1987, where he was cared for in the NICU at UI Children's Hospital. He beat a pulmonary disease in his first 19 months. In December 2014, he had a double-lung transplant at UI Hospitals and Clinics. The complicated 12-hour surgery has given him a new lease on life.

Prestigious Research Award for UI Children’s Hospital

A paper written on adolescent idiopathic scoliosis by Stuart Weinstein, MD and Lori Dolan, PhD has been selected as the winner of the prestigious 2015 Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation Clinical Research Award.
