Injury Prevention

Unintentional injury is the leading cause of death and disability for children up to 14 years old. The Kohl’s Keeping Kids Safe Program at University of Iowa Children’s Hospital seeks to prevent thousands of childhood injuries that occur every year by providing education about bicycle, ATV, and child passenger safety by educating parents and children.

You can help support this program with the purchase of a $5 Kohl’s Cares® book or plush toy found at any Kohl’s location in the following Iowa counties: Black Hawk, Cedar, Dubuque, Johnson, Jones, Linn, and Scott. 100 percent of the net profits support children’s health and educational opportunities and you make a positive difference in the lives of children in our community. Since 2001, Kohl’s has provided more than $1.97 million to UI Children’s Hospital through the Kohl’s Cares® cause merchandise program.
