Orthopedics is the area of medicine that deals with the prevention or correction of injuries or disorders of the skeleton and associated muscles, joints, and ligaments. A pediatric orthopedist specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of these diseases in children.
University of Iowa Children’s Hospital’s board-certified pediatric orthopaedists are trained to treat a range of congenital, developmental, and traumatic conditions affecting children’s bones, joints, and muscles. Our physicians are world-renowned experts in surgical and non-surgical treatments for conditions such as scoliosis, limb length discrepancies, clubfoot, hip dysplasia, and fractures.
The clinic offers a full range of orthopaedic services including treatment for:
- Spinal deformity (scoliosis; kyphosis)
